Is Hyderabad Ready for the Greater City Corporation Revolution

Hyderabad is set for a major transformation as 24 surrounding muncipalities will merge into GHMC, forming a unified Greater City Corporation (GCC). The objective is to streamline growing and Infrastructure management.

The Changes would be, Expanded Metro Connectivity, emerging commercial Hubs, massive residential developments and enhanced infrastructure.

Beginning January 2025, 24 municipalities will merge into GHMC, setting the stage for the Greater City Corporation (GCC)

The Goal to Form the Greater City Corporation (GCC), is targeted for completion by December 2025.

A Dedicated Committee will manage the integration process, focusing on infrastructure needs and resource allocation.

Key Focus Areas: Ensuring balanced growth across both developed and underdeveloped regions.

Expanded Area: The new GHMC and GCC will cover 1,800 to 2,000 square kilometers, up from 650.

Dividing into 3: To manage this growth, officials propose creating three smaller corporations, each handling 600-650 square kilometers.
